Welcome to BoyScoutWiki.org. This wiki is a collection of best practices in Boy Scouting.
Scouters have been sharing their ideas about scouting for years in books, at roundtables, on email lists, and on web sites. But a Wiki may be the best way to share this information. Why? Because a Wiki is easily available to anyone with an Internet connection, it is searchable, so that content is automatically indexed and retrievable, and best of all, it is editable by anyone. This allows scouters to build upon the contributions of others - a tradition which goes back to Lord Baden Powell.
The meat of this web site is a collection of best practices for scouting. What are best practices? Best practices are ways of working with Scouts that have been successful in the past. Many of you have acquired a wealth of experience working with the Scouts in your Troop. And as any Scouter knows, some things work better than others. Here you will find information contributed by fellow Scouters about things that worked well for them. I hope you find something useful. If you have experience with a topic that is not covered, please consider contributing to this wiki.
